The Ordinary has been one of the breakout skincare brands since its creation in September 2016. It has become so unbelievably popular due to a combination of well-studied, basic skincare ingredients. On top of that is has a ridiculously low price point and a quirky social media presence.

What makes it so different compared to other skincare brands is that each product only contains a very few active ingredients. And these tend to be ones that have been used and understood for years. This means that we know that these ingredients are safe and that scientists had enough time to prove that they actually work.
