Key Ingredients

Plant Extracts

Saw Palmetto Fruit Extract is derived from a small palm tree native to the subtropical Southeastern United States. It has gained high popularity as a plant based treatment  for male pattern baldness. Saw Palmetto blocks 5 alpha reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. This is the main molecule responsible for hair loss. One small study that involved 25 participants showed positive results for men who treated their hair with saw palmetto which they applied to  their hair.  Nearly half of the 25 participants increased their hair count by 11.9 percent after four months of treatment.

Plant phytosterols (min 50 mg beta-sistosterol) are found in the membrane of plants. They prevent hair loss by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha reductase type II.  This is an enzyme that is responsible for the production of the androgen DHT, which causes male pattern baldness.

Citrus bioflavonoid complex are compounds that you can find in citrus fruits like tangerines, oranges, and grapefruit. They are able to increase blood flow to the scalp. Because of this,  more nutrients are supplied to the hair follicle which will produce stronger and healthier hair.

Vitamins

Biotin is one of the B vitamins (vitamin B7). There are a few people in this world who have a very rare defect of an enzyme in their body and because of this they have very low levels of biotin.  These people have very thin hair, brittle nails and an unusual rash.

Because of this observation many supplements contain biotin to improve hair loss and thinning. So far, no studies were able to prove that supplementing your diet with biotin improves hair loss or hair thinning. But, on the positive side, biotin does not have any toxic effects and you can safely take it without any harm.

Precautions

Do not take while you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Ideally, take with meals.
