Cosmetic treatment for men in Christchurch

Most men who book here aren't trying to look younger. They're trying to stop looking tired, or angry, or like they've had a rougher decade than they've actually had.

Dr Nadja Haub assesses you, prescribes for you and treats you herself — there's no separate injector and no off-site prescriber. Prices are published. The aim is that nobody can point at what you've had done.

Where men usually start

What men actually come in for

Nobody walks in asking for a neuromodulator. They walk in with a sentence. These are the ones we hear most, and what's usually behind them.

Under-eye hollowing — sometimes

Not every tired-looking under-eye is a filler problem, and filler placed in the wrong under-eye makes it worse. This one gets assessed before anything is booked, and sometimes the answer is that we don’t treat it.

Why a doctor-led clinic

Three things worth knowing before you choose anywhere

A doctor throughout

The person who assesses you is the person who prescribes and the person who treats you. Dr Haub also teaches botulinum toxin, dermal filler and PDO thread technique to other doctors and nurses around New Zealand. There is no single mandatory qualification a cosmetic injector must hold in this country — it's worth asking any clinic, including this one.

Conservative by default

The aim is that nobody can point at what you've had done. If what you want is a visibly changed face, we'll say so honestly at the assessment rather than take the booking.

Published pricing

Treatment prices are on the site, not held back for a consultation. You'll know the exact cost before anything is booked, and there's no pressure to book on the day.

The appointment

What happens when you come in

Assessment

Twenty to thirty minutes with Dr Haub. Medical history, what's bothering you, and what's actually causing it.

A plan, with costs

Written down, with exact figures. You take it away. There's no pressure to book anything on the day.

Treatment

Same visit if you want it, or come back later. Most men are in and out inside forty-five minutes.

Review

Two weeks after injectable treatment, to check the result and adjust it if it needs adjusting.

Homecare

What you use at home does more than most men expect

Satini topical finasteride scalp spray, dispensed by Satini Cosmetic Clinic, Christchurch Satini topical finasteride spray applicator shown in use on the scalp

In-clinic treatment does part of the work. For hair loss in particular, what happens daily at home does the rest — and the two together consistently outperform either on its own.

Satini compounds its own topical finasteride scalp spray, dispensed after a consultation with Dr Haub. Finasteride is a prescription medicine, so it isn't sold over the counter: you'll need an appointment and a medical history first, and Dr Haub will go through the risks and the alternatives with you before anything is prescribed.

Discretion

A quiet clinic, deliberately

The clinic sits in a low-key part of Ferrymead with free on-site parking and no street frontage. Appointments are spaced far enough apart that you won't cross paths with anyone in the waiting area. Evening slots run to 8pm Wednesday and 9pm Thursday if you'd rather not come during work hours.

Nothing discussed in the room leaves it.

Straight answers

The questions men actually ask

Will people be able to tell?

That's the goal — that they can't. Treated conservatively, the usual response is that you look well rested rather than treated. If what you want is a visibly changed face, we'll tell you honestly at the assessment that this isn't the clinic for it.

Does it hurt?

Anti-wrinkle injections use a very fine needle and take a few minutes — most men describe a sharp scratch. Filler contains local anaesthetic. PRP involves a standard blood draw first.

Will I need time off work?

For anti-wrinkle injections, no — small marks settle within an hour or two. Filler can bruise, so allow a few days before anything you'd rather not be bruised for. PRP leaves the skin flushed for around 24 hours.

How much does it cost?

Every price is published. Anti-wrinkle injections start at $439, hair loss treatment from $159 a month, PRP for hair from $480 a session, dermal filler from $750 per ml, a PRP facial from $450, treatment for excessive sweating from $640, and skin treatments from $299.

The first skin assessment with a doctor is free, and you'll leave with a written plan and exact costs whether or not you book anything.

Do many men come here?

Yes — men make up a meaningful proportion of the clinic. Hair loss and excessive sweating are two of the most common reasons men book, followed by frown lines.

Who's actually treating me?

Dr Nadja Haub, throughout. She holds the Australasian Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, is a member of the MultiSpecialty Aesthetic Society, and teaches injectable and thread lift technique to other doctors and nurses around New Zealand.

Can I get treatment outside work hours?

Yes. The clinic runs until 8pm on Wednesdays and 9pm on Thursdays, and is open Saturday mornings until 1pm.
