Glutathione Injections

Glutathione is an incredibly important molecule in our bodies. Its main purpose is to protect us against harmful oxidative stress. Oxidative stress happens when our bodies form free radicals, which are unstable atoms that can damage cells, causing illness and aging. Because it is so important, most cells in the human body contain ten times more glutathione than Vitamin C.

Unlock the Secret to Radiant Skin: Glutathione – Your Ultimate Whitening and Antioxidant Powerhouse!

Recently, there has been an increasing interest in using glutathione as a skin-whitening agent. Marketed as a safe and effective solution for achieving a lighter complexion, glutathione has gained popularity in the beauty and wellness industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant naturally present in the body. One of its essential functions is to inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye colour. Melanin protects against harmful UV rays, but an overproduction of melanin can lead to hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. As an antioxidant, glutathione helps neutralize free radicals contributing to skin damage and aging. Some proponents believe that by taking glutathione supplements or receiving glutathione injections, melanin production can be reduced, resulting in a lighter and brighter complexion.

Glutathione injections are still an experimental treatment for skin whitening. This means that not enough research and testing is available at this stage (2023) to be 100% sure that the benefits of this treatment outweigh its risks. A trained doctor or nurse must administer glutathione injections to avoid severe side effects or complications. It’s also essential that the glutathione is manufactured at a registered facility and not compounded in a pharmacy.

One study in India showed that 37 % of women who received glutathione injections in India, noticed whitening of their skin. This effect lasted for approximately six months. Based on that, we recommend taking glutathione supplements while you have injections and after you have finished your injections. This will further enhance and also prolong the whitening effect. On top of that, you always have to use SPF 50+ sunscreen to prevent the darker skin tone from reoccurring.

As this is still an experimental treatment, there is no official guidance on how many infusions you need. From our experience at Satini Cosmetic Clinic, most people have six infusions to see a noticeable whitening of their skin colour. But some people have up to 12 infusions. We usually would not recommend more infusions as this will likely not make any more difference to your skin colour.

The effect of your glutathione injections will last longer if you always use SPF 50+ sunscreen and take glutathione supplements. One study showed that the skin colour becomes darker again six months after the glutathione infusions. But if you stick to rigorous sun protection and oral supplements, it will likely last longer. You can repeat your glutathione injections every six months or once a year.

At Satini Cosmetic Clinic, we always take a blood test before you have a glutathione infusion. When you have your initial consultation, we will take a detailed medical history from you. his will ensure that you are medically safe to have the infusion. We will then provide you with a blood test form to check your kidneys, liver and blood salts. Sometimes, we can take the blood sample from you in the clinic. The blood test usually costs 120 to 150 NZD.

At Satini Cosmetic Clinic, one infusion costs $275.00 NZD. If you have a series of 6 infusions, it will cost $1375.00 NZD which means that the 6th infusion if for free.

Yes. You can add vitamin C and ALA (Alpha-Lipoic Acid) to your glutathione infusion.

Yes. We recommend taking glutathione supplements in between and after the glutathione injections. This will enhance and prolong your treatment results. On top of that, we always recommend you use a high-quality whitening cream for the skin and sunscreen. Some people combine the glutathione injections with the cosmelan mask, a popular anti-pigmentation programme that restores radiance and a glow to your skin.
