Vitamin C Injections

Have you ever thought about a treatment that enhances the quality of your skin and increases your energy levels? Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant with many health and anti-ageing benefits. It helps with collagen formation in your skin, improves fatigue and boosts your immune system. Healthy and radiant skin needs high levels of vitamin C as it promotes collagen formation, helps to repair damaged cells and protects from UV radiation. Many skincare products contain vitamin C but it often only reaches the upper layers of the skin as its ability to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin is limited. If vitamin C concentrations in skin products are too high they can cause skin irritation.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant with many benefits

At SATINI we often combine treatments with an infusion of vitamin C so that it is absorbed into your blood stream and supplies the skin and many other organs with this powerful antioxidant from within. Vitamin C infusions are highly popular for their additional health benefits improving fatigue, low energy levels and making you less vulnerable to viral infections.

Vitamin C is called an essential vitamin that our bodies can not produce. This means that all of the valuable vitamin C comes from our food or supplements. Particularly our skin contains a lot of vitamin C , but with advancing age we become more and more depleted of it. This can cause your skin to produce less collagen and have a tendency to develop more dark spots and freckles.

We also know that vitamin C has got many additional health benefits . Many studies have shown that when you take vitamin C regularly, it can improve fatigue, shorten the duration of viral illnesses and make them less severe. On top of that it boosts your immune system.

Studies have shown that the cells inside our skin store very high levels of vitamin C to protect it from damaging UV radiation, one of the main factors that makes our skin age. Vitamin C helps our skin produce collagen making it look healthy and firm and prevents it from getting sun spots.

When we age our skin starts to store less vitamin C making it more vulnerable to UV radiation and advancing the ageing signs of our skin.

Many skincare products contain different versions of vitamin C and certainly help to improve the quality of our skin. But vitamin C is not fat soluble so behaves like a drop of water that stays on top of the skin and it is not able to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.

An infusion injects vitamin C directly into your blood stream and helps to deliver the vitamin C directly into the deeper layers of the skin stimulating collagen synthesis and protecting it from damaging sun radiation.

Vitamin C can be given as a treatment on its own or it can be combined with any other cosmetic treatment on the same day. For example, you can combine the PRP plasma facial with a vitamin C infusion. We administer the vitamin C infusion first to enrich your plasma with vitamin C supporting the valuable growth factors it contains. We then take a blood sample from you and centrifuge it separating your vitamin C enriched plasma from the blood cells and gently inject into your skin. The vitamin C will boost your growth factors and stimulate the cells inside your skin to make them produce more collagen providing a lift to your face and making your skin look healthier and more radiant.

If you have never had a vitamin C infusion with us before, we will ask you to book for an initial consultation so that we can take a thorough medical history from you to make sure that this treatment is safe for you. We will also have to take a blood test from you to make sure that your kidneys are functioning well. Once we have the blood test result back, which usually takes a day, you are ready to go.
Depending on whether you wish to combine the vitamin C injection with one of our cosmetic treatments or you prefer to just have the injection as a standalone treatment it will take between 15 minutes and 2 hours.
If performed by a medical professional vitamin C infusions are very safe. Sometimes you can notice swelling or bruising at the injection site. There are some reports of people developing nausea after injection of a very high dose of vitamin C that we would not administer. In theory you could develop an allergic reaction but no reports have been published about this.

You're just a few steps away from a new confident and youthful you.
